The Rules of Blackjack

  • The cards 2 – 9 are worth their face value, an ace can be either is valued as a 1 or an 11 and the picture cards, those being the jack, queen and king are valued at 10.
  • The aim of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible. If you get a total of 22 or more then it is counted as a bust.
  • The dealer will be dealt one card that is face down and one card that is face up.
  • Blackjack occurs when the first two cards you get are equal to 21. The two cards must consist of an ace and a card that is worth 10.
  • Blackjack will always win against a hand that made up to 21 points.
  • If the dealer has a hand that is worth less than 17 points then they will need to draw a third card.

The Split

You are able to use the split when you get two cards that are of the same value. Using a split means that you will be able to play two different hands. With a split hand you are unable to get blackjack.

Insurance

An insurance bet in blackjack can be taken when the dealers face up card is ace. It will cost you 0.5 times the first bet to take out insurance, but if the dealer gets a blackjack you will be paid out at 2:1. If the dealer does not have blackjack then th insurance bet you made is lost.

Double

After you have checked your first two cards you have the option to double. When you double you obtain an additional card for your hand. You may also double once you have split.

Blackjack Bet Limits

Pay Table

Playing Blackjack with NetEnt
